After a week filled with activity, this week is pretty dull. I just had a therapist's appointment today, then picked up a pizza to have for dinner tonight and lunch tomorrow.

Since one of the local radio stations is located in the Chapel Hills Mall, I plan to stop by tomorrow and drop off my résumé.

I rescheduled my appointment with my therapist for October 3rd since he won't be seeing patients next week.

"Glad it's not mouth feel."

I have an eye exam tomorrow afternoon. The eye doctor actually works remotely and can control the testing equipment from another location while an assistant is in the exam room with me.

I got a call Tuesday from my therapist's receptionist. She said my therapist's wife passed away over the weekend. I made a tentative appointment for next Tuesday but will wait until the following week if the therapist isn't ready to resume work then.

I bought some Lunchables and similar types of snack kits to keep in my mini fridge. This would give me something to snack on during my shows without needing to use the microwave late at night.

"It's like Breaking Bad, except it's baking bread."

I need to clean out my car today and tomorrow. I made a Wednesday appointment to have my Subaru dealer repair the radio antenna and the torn carpeting on the driver's side.

I also need to reschedule a therapy appointment for next week. CenturyLink is installing my upgraded internet on Tuesday, but they can arrive any time between 8 AM and 5 PM.

I made a therapist appointment for next week. It's been over a month since my last session, and my depression has been on and off lately.

I watched a pair of webinars from the state's Small Business Development Center to get more information about starting a business.

Bucktown Tiger tweeted a picture of some of the damage from today's tornado that went through Little Rock. I'm thankful that Bucktown is safe. Colorado Springs is under a high wind warning today. I've been hearing the wind gusts once in a while.

The snow on the roads around my neighborhood was about halfway melted yesterday. I was able to pick up some groceries and attend a meeting last night.

I've filled out some forms to become a patient at a local psychiatrist's office. I just need to wait for the office to get back to me to make an appointment.

It looks like Romeo Rabbit is making some changes to the Rabbit Hole. I hope this will make the show even better.

"All...my...friends...got the arthritis
All...my...friends...move a little slower

Fall and break a hip
Fall and break a hip with me"

My dad said the commissary where he gets my groceries didn't have any gel deodorants. I went ahead and ordered some to pick up today at King Soopers since there is a "2 for $4" deal for one brand. I need to use gel deodorants since my skin has an allergic reaction to an ingredient in solid and spray deodorants. My dad also got me a new bottle of mayonnaise. I didn't realize the mayo I was using had expired in October. Thankfully I didn't have any ill effects from it when I used it.

I'm still looking for an available psychiatrist. A few others I've called aren't taking new patients. One office is only open from Monday through Thursday, so I'll call that one on Monday.

I called the second psychiatrist that my therapist recommended. He isn't accepting new patients at this time. I've compiled a list of other psychiatrists covered by my insurance and will call them later today. My energy has just been low all week.

One of the psychiatrists recommended by my therapist called me back today. He told me his office doesn't accept insurance, so I'd have to pay out of pocket to see him. My insurance company lists the other psychiatrist I was told about, though he isn't seeing new patients until sometime in February. I bought a pack of edibles to help me get through the next two weeks.

My job placement counselor postponed my Wednesday appointment until Thursday due to the snow in the forecast. I only got an inch or two at my condo. My therapist appointment still happened this afternoon. I went to Safeway afterwards since I was running low on butter and a few other items.

My therapist recommended a couple of psychiatrists who could help me determine if I need a new medication for my depression. I'll give them a call tomorrow to see if I can make an appointment.

The device I ordered to help with my depression will take a bit longer to be delivered. I got an e-mail a few days ago saying some of the information I provided didn't go through. I re-submitted the information and will hopefully get the device within the next week.

My 2023 collie wall calendar arrived this afternoon.

One business idea my therapist suggested was running a food truck. I have occasionally thought about this idea when a particular furry talks about giving certain dishes a "Tex-Mex" flair. Of course, the cost to start a business like this would be too expensive. In addition to the truck and food expenses, there's also the licensing, insurance, advertising, and hiring a few people for shift work.

Snowed in

I'm glad I don't have anything I need to do today since it snowed overnight.

I ordered a new payment card for my DoorDash deliveries. I haven't needed to use the card for a while, so I didn't know the card expired in June.

One of the online talk shows I like discussed a new medical device that's used to help treat depression. The Fisher Wallace Stimulator sounds similar to another device I used years ago which uses light electrical pulses to stimulate parts of the brain. The manufacturer is offering a money-back guarantee if the stimulator doesn't work, so I figured I'd try it out. It should arrive in a week or so.

"I think that's a mail truck."
"How can you tell?"
"It's got truck nuts!"

I made a final decision on my Christmas vacation. I booked a flight to Las Vegas and a hotel room today, then reserved a spot at a parking lot near the Denver airport.

I got a haircut earlier while I was out. I was supposed to have a therapy appointment, but my therapist called and said he wouldn't be in the office today.

The support group meeting I wanted to attend last night didn't happen. I left a voicemail message with the group and got a response today saying certain groups weren't being held at the moment. I was given their website to look for current meetings. The Wednesday night group is held at a different location than the one listed in the pamphlet I have.

The host of the singles Thanksgiving dinner asked me to bring a different side dish since two others were bringing bread and rolls. I offered to bring a green bean casserole. The recipe I have only makes 4-6 servings, so I'll either double or triple it depending on how many people sign up. The dinner is supposed to have up to 30 people.

My dad helped me write a letter to my congressman so he can find out why my tax refund hasn't arrived yet. The senator's office had me fill out an online form giving him permission to look into the matter.

My therapist's receptionist called me back today. They are still having problems with their main phone line, so I was given a second number to call. I made a new appointment for tomorrow afternoon.

I found another non-commercial radio host opening in Denver at jazz station KUVO. I had previously applied with this organization at their hip-hop station, 104.7 The Drop. I sent them my updated resume today.

The building housing my therapist's office was locked when I arrived for my Friday appointment. The office has been having problems with its phone system lately, so I couldn't reach the receptionist or their voicemail. I went home and sent them an e-mail to see if everything was okay.

(Content Warning: suicide mentions)

The Colorado furry community lost one of its own last week. Posts I've read said Myst Dingo committed suicide. I saw photos of Myst's fursuit and couldn't remember if I'd seen him (in or out of suit) at either RMFC, DenFur or any local meets.

I mainly brought this up because I've been having my own struggles with depression lately. My sleep schedule is very random, and I'm often kept awake at night with worries about finding a new job or saving enough to retire in 10-15 years. I've also made last-minute decisions to not make deliveries or attend events that I love to attend because my mind just wants me to lay in bed. I also find I'm slacking off on cleaning my condo and letting trash pile up until I get enough motivation to take it out once every 1-2 weeks.

I have had suicidal thoughts occasionally, but in reality, I don't want to die. To paraphrase Maya Angelou, I want to both survive and thrive. I'm just having trouble getting help with the thriving part. I will make a therapist appointment this week since it's been a while since my last one.

Happy Birthday to Romeo Rabbit!

My therapist has completed and faxed the forms he needs to send to Vocational Rehab. I picked up a copy of the forms today.

I attempted to make kolaches at home using sausages, cheese and dinner roll dough. I do have a recipe to make kolaches from scratch, but I wanted to see if my "shortcut" method would work. The sausages I used were a bit too heavy, so I'll use lighter sausages next time.

Hearing that O.J. Simpson responded to the Will Smith/Chris Rock incident at the Oscars reminded me of how Norm Macdonald used to make O.J. jokes on Saturday Night Live. I imagined Norm reporting on this and saying "After hearing about the slap, O.J. said 'If that was me, I woulda just stabbed him.'"

139 days until DenFur!

It's snowing again. Luckily my therapy appointment happened before the snow started. The snow is only supposed to last until about 6 PM, then the temperature should still be just warm enough to melt it before sunset.
